General Requirements:

  • A resident of Texas.
    (proof of residency required, SSN number, Citizen status.)
  • Enrolled in full time education within the Texas education system.
  • Provide a completed Application Form along with the requested attachments.
  • Be able to attend an Awards Dinner to receive scholarship. (Usually May of the Award year.)

Early Starters Award

It is never too early to be thinking about your education, this award is intended to set students on the right track. Further education is a costly business and requires significant financial resources and planning. This is our effort towards getting you started.

Additional Requirements

  • Attending Middle School.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable annual household income.
  • Maintain an average A grade and hold an excellent school attendance record.

 

Junior Achievers Award

The purpose of the BAFTX Junior Achievers award is to provide a summer study program for academically adept students from low income families in the Houston area.

Additional Requirements

  • High School Jr year.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable annual household income.
  • In possession of a birth certificate, a valid passport (within 6 month expiry date) or eligible to receive one.
  • Maintain a competitive GPA (clearly showing marking out of 4.0/5.0 or 6.0) school marks and hold an excellent school attendance record.

 

The Wood Mackenzie - BAFTX Energy Award

The Wood Mackenzie - BAFTX Energy award is aimed toward low income, high academic students in Texas and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding those college fees.

Additional Requirements

  • Aged between 18 and above.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable and independent annual household income, FAFSA Report, and Statement of Hardship Budget provided.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Be able to attend a 15 minute meeting/interview with a BAFTX panel, either in person, telephone or skype.

Scholarships are awarded for Tuition Only No Stipends.

 

 

BG Group - STEM Award

The BG Group - STEM award is aimed toward low income families in Texas and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding those college fees.

Additional Requirements

  • Aged between 18 and above.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable and independent annual household income, FAFSA Report, and Statement of Hardship Budget provided.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 3.25 or above.
  • Be able to attend a 15 minute meeting/interview with a representative from BG Group, either in person, telephone or skype.

Scholarships are awarded for Tuition Only No Stipends.

 

 

Undergraduate Award

The undergraduate award is aimed toward low income families in Texas and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding those college fees.

Additional Requirements

  • Aged between 18 and above.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable and independent annual household income, FAFSA Report, and Statement of Hardship Budget provided.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above.
  • Be able to attend a 15 minute meeting/interview with a BAFTX panel, either in person, telephone or skype.
  • For students applying from the UK; you must be a permanent resident of the UK.
    Documentation required (proof of residency required.)
  • In possession of a valid passport or eligible to receive one.
 

 

Graduate Award

The Graduate Award is aimed toward aspiring individuals from Great Britain or Texas, USA, with opportunities to study abroad. It is hoped that we can align education with some practical experience by offering an internship with one of our member organizations, giving a real world start and opportunity for successful applicants.

Additional Requirements

  • Aged between 21 and above.
  • Consideration partially based on dependable and independent annual household income, FAFSA Report, and Statement of Hardship Budget provided.
  • For U.S. applicants: Hold an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 3.5 or above
    For U.K. applicants: Hold an undergraduate degree of an upper 2:1 (65+)
  • Applicants applying from the UK must be a permanent resident of the UK;
    Documentation required (proof of residency required)

The Swansea and Texas A&M Award

The Swansea and Texas A&M award is aimed toward students transferring between both Universities on a reciprocal exchange.
