BAFTX Gala 2025
Friday November 14th 2025
Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston, 1600 W Loop S, Houston
It was a dazzling evening of pomp and circumstance as The British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX) welcomed more than 600 guests to its annual gala November 14 at The Post Oak Hotel. Under the leadership of Gala Co-Chairs Meg and Tom Long, and Amy and Rob Pierce, the event was flush with royal success for Texas students, raising more than $1.1 million to provide transformative scholarships to underserved Texas students in business and STEM fields, enabling them to reach their dreams of a college education.
Scottish pipers struck the first celebratory note of the night, leading guests into the ballroom where BAFTX Board President James McLennan welcomed everyone with Highland flair. The “money-can’t-buy” auction quickly kicked the evening into high gear, igniting fierce and joyful bidding on once-in-a-lifetime adventures—among them a private VIP tour of Westminster Abbey, a round of golf at the legendary Royal Dornoch, and an eight-night James Bond–style escape through Zurich, Shilthorn, Venice, Nice, and Monte Carlo (martinis included, of course).
Adding extra sparkle, Tenenbaum Jewelers dazzled the crowd with the raffle of a stunning diamond bracelet. After an inspiring program celebrating the grit and determination of scholarship recipients, Board Chairman Kevin Howard, MBE, brought the house down with a no-holds-barred comedic riff that earned him a roaring standing ovation. The crowd rode that energy straight onto the dance floor, where Skyrocket! kept the party going well into the wee hours.
