Eligibility Criteria

Scholarships from the British American Foundation of Texas have the following eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be a resident of Texas or the United Kingdom;

  • Applicants must be enrolled in full time education within the Texas or UK education system;

  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need;

  • Applicants must have a good GPA;

  • Applicants from Texas must be able to attend an Awards Dinner in Houston in April 2025.

The "international stem" Award 

The purpose of the BAFTX International STEM award is to provide a summer study program in the UK for academically adept High School Juniors who are passionate about STEM and from low income families in Texas.

The "Undergraduate" Award

The Undergraduate award is aimed toward students from low income families in Texas and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding college fees.

The "WOMEN IN STEM" Award

The Women in STEM award is aimed toward female students from low income families in Texas who are majoring in STEM and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding college fees.

The "UK to Texas" Award

The UK to Texas award is aimed at students enrolled at University in the UK, studying STEM or Business, transferring to University in Texas for a period of study.

The Texas to UK award is aimed at students enrolled at in college in Texas and spending a semester of study in the UK, majoring in STEM or business.

The "Susan Howard Community Service" Award

The purpose of the Susan Howard Community Service Award is to honor and reward academically adept students from low income families in Texas or Great Britain who have demonstrated initiative and leadership skills through their dedication to benefiting their community.
