Texas TO UK AWARD
The Texas to UK award is intended for low income families and is intended to alleviate the financial burden of funding college fees while studying at in the UK for a semester.
Purpose Of The Award
General Description Of The Award
Scholarships awarded for a semester’s study at a University in the UK.
Requirements
Applicants must:
Be a resident of Texas;
Be enrolled in full time education at a college in Texas;
Major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Business;
Come from a low income household;
Maintain a GPA of 3 or above;
Be in possession of a valid passport or eligible to receive one.
Applicants need to provide:
Applicants need to complete an application form (click on the link below) and upload the following to it:
Letter of recommendation from a teacher on a school or college letterhead. If your teacher prefers to keep this letter confidential, it can be sent in separately by email to info@baftx.org before the deadline of 12pm on January 31st. Guidelines for teachers to write your reference letter are available here;
School transcript - official or unofficial;
FAFSA report;
Essay: Please submit an essay of between 400 and 450 words. "Describe your educational and career goals and why you need a scholarship from BAFTX to achieve them. Excluding financial needs, what are the most significant challenges you expect to face in successfully completing college. How will you overcome these challenges?"
Please note that the deadline for applications is 12pm on January 31st and we cannot accept incomplete or late forms.
